BrOTHERHOOD Soundtrack Out Now + Krept & Konan – Dunya (Music Video)

Continuing the cultural impact of KIDULTHOOD and ADULTHOOD, BrOTHERHOOD is the third instalment of the trilogy from BAFTA award – winning actor, writer and director Noel Clarke. Both movies were critically and commercially successful in the UK and travelled worldwide. In June 2008, ADULTHOOD smashed industry expectations, taking the no. 1 spot at the UK box office its opening weekend.

BrOTHERHOOD follows Sam as he faces up to the new world after ADULTHOOD and realizes it also comes with new problems and new challenges. Sam knows that to survive he must face his issues head on, and knows he will require old friends to help him survive new dangers. Noel Clarke (Star Trek into darkness, Doctor Who, Adulthood.) reprises the role of Sam Peel with breakthrough Grime artist Stormzy appearing alongside him as Yardz. The film is written and directed by Noel Clarke who also produced alongside Jason Maza, Maggie Monteith and Gina Powell. BrOTHERHOOD showcases a supporting cast that includes Steven Cree (Brave, 300: Rise of an Empire, Maleficent), Olivia Chenery (Penny Dreadful, The Anomaly), Tonia Sotiropoulou (Skyfall), Jason Maza.

Black Butter Records/Unstoppable Records/Elensa release the official soundtrack for the BrOTHERHOOD film. Last night Krept & Konan released their Noel Clarke directed video for track ‘Dunya’.

BrOTHERHOOD will be released in cinemas across the UK & Ireland on September 2nd. The timing coincides with the 10-year anniversary when audiences were first introduced to the cultural phenomenon of the ‘hood’ series of films from the same creative team over the summer of 2006.

Written and directed by Noel Clarke and starring Stormzy in his first acting role, BrOTHERHOOD is set to a brooding soundtrack of British urban music. Like its predecessors, the Brotherhood soundtrack showcases some of the newest names in the UK scene alongside some more established acts. The majority of the tracks were written and recorded especially for the film and soundtrack, and includes tracks from Stormzy, Krept & Konan, Chip, WSTRN, Fekky & Giggs, J Hus, Laura Mvula, AJ Tracey and Nines. In the lead up to the release, Black Butter Records/Unstoppable Records recently launched a nationwide competition via media partner LINK UP TV for aspiring MC’s to send in their original verses over a Maniac instrumental. Curtis Clacey was announced as the winner of the competition and his prize allowed him to grace the official soundtrack (Track 23).
