After wrapping up a three month tour with his mentor Waka Flocka Flame, Columbia, South Carolina’s own Ben G finally gets some time to put together his upcoming EP ‘Spanish Moss & Collard Greens’. This EP is derivative of his Southern upbringing, whilst vying for outside success. Seven songs in length, the single ‘Heart of a Lion’ featuring Waka Flocka will finally be made available for free download.

‘A Hit Away’ will be the final single from the EP, releasing August 10th, and today we have the music video for it. This was filmed on location in Atlanta, GA by Ben’s in-house videographer Logan Meis. Already feeling success from a sold out tour with Waka, and Fans embracing him, Ben’s a hit away from success. The greatest feeling & accomplishment for him thus far has been the Fans that have been coming up to him after shows relating to his story of growing up in group homes, and giving them the determination to continue forward in their lives.

At the end of the day financial success wouldn’t be the deciding factor in Ben’s eyes, in relation to if he ‘made it’. It’ll be the basis that he has made a positive impact in those Fans that believe they have nothing to look forward to. Throughout his life he’s battled adversity from being arrested at 16, then incarcerated, then in and out of different group homes, and then losing his mother recently. Through these adverse times he had a lot of soul searching, and Waka has taken him under his wings like a brother.

‘A Hit Away’ and the EP ‘Spanish Moss & Collard Greens’ is a culmination of his life story to date, in a complete body of art.
