Following the huge release of ‘True’, Digital Farm Animals has just unveiled a remix for the late great Amy Winehouse.
Digital Farm Animals, the elusive London-based producer who has been making some serious waves of late with his personal brand of summery electronica has risen quickly and across the blogosphere. Thanks to his unique fusion of influences from synth-pop, 2-step, classic house and bass music, he’s made a name for himself across dance music’s most notable barometers.
However, it’s this new official remix for Amy Winehouse’s Ivor Novello Award winning single ’Stronger Than Me’ from her debut album ‘Frank’ that really proves his skill and maturity as a producer; respecting the legacy of the singer, Digital Farm Animals has managed to retain the slightly sad, reflective feel of the original.
Amy’s vocals remain at the forefront, particularly taking the lead in the drawn-out intro. When the garage beat kicks in, it’s backed up by glittering bells and background strings, whilst a simple solo piano halfway through and as the outro adds some real depth of emotion to the track.
With ‘Stronger Than Me’, Digital Farm Animals has succeeded in keeping the brilliance of the original, whilst developing his own distinct style. Digital Farm Animals is yet again proving his worth as one of the most exciting names emerging from the electronic music scene today.
