Nikelab partners with Stone Island for an upcoming iteration of it’s most well-known garment, the Nike Windrunner.

Celebrating the beginning of Nike’s Year of the Windrunner, the stunning capsule features Nike’s trademark silhouette constructed from two of the most iconic Stone Island fabrics. Originally created in 1978 by Nike’s first apparel designer, the Windrunner was revolutionary at the time for it’s unique raglan sleeved pattern and 26-degree chevron yoke, quickly becoming a favorite of both the top athletes and the most stylish and forward-thinking characters of the late 70’s.

Now, for 2015, Stone Island have delivered a unique update of the jackets, utilizing both their water/wind-resistant Mussole Gommata and iridescent, resin treated Nylon Metal fabrics. The Windrunners are padded with a PrimaLoft substrate, resulting in lightweight superior thermal performance. The result is a luxurious and eye-catching make up, with Stone Island’s monochromatic garment dyed fabrics producing a striking mimicry of the traditional Windrunner’s color blocking.

The collaboration also includes the Nike Koth Ultra Mid SI sneaker-hiker hybrid. The shoe features aggressive traction and flexible ankle support paired with a phylon midsole for cushioning and durable support

The NikeLab x Stone Island collab will be available on December 17th (Today) at Stone Island flagships, Stone Island’s website, at selected NikeLab retailers and via NikeLab’s own site.
