Britain’s premier Hip Hop and grime tastemaker DJ Charlie Sloth unveils the official video for ‘Pressure’; the lead track from his second annual compilation album ‘Hood Heat’ which was released in December 2015. Originally premiered by GRM Daily and directed by Chas Appeti & Posty, the video sees Florida based rapper Ace Hood, Manchester’s leading MC Bugzy Malone and London based African artist, producer & songwriter Silvastone link up in Paris, France while the narrative follows another story of a young man attempting to portray an image he can’t quite live up to… with disappointing results.
‘Pressure’ has received strong support from BBC Radio 1Xtra (who have now added the track to their A List) as well as spot plays on BBC Radio 1 while the likes of Complex, MTV, GRM Daily and Link Up TV have all shown early support behind the track following its radio premiere back in November. Celebrating Charlie’s second year heading up BBC Radio 1’s legendary Rap Show which broadcasts on Radio 1 and 1Xtra from 10pm – 1am on Saturday nights, ‘Hood Heat Vol. II’ features his authoritative selection of this year’s finest Hip Hop and Grime cuts.
Split across two discs, ‘Hood Heat Vol. II’ is packed full of the biggest Hip Hop and Grime track of 2015 from artists Charlie has championed on the radio and in the clubs throughout the year featuring Skepta, Giggs, Drake, J Cole, Lady Leshurr, J Hus and many, many more. In keeping with Charlie’s reputation for championing new music, there are eight brand new exclusive tracks personally commissioned by him, and all of which he has produced bar one (which is produced by Naughty Boy).
