With his mind and body right, Slangston Hughes puts on for the city of New Orleans in the ‘Champion Song‘ video. Directed by Reel Spotlite Films, it features NOLA based comedian Mark Caesar and the infamous 8 Bit Animal motivating The Connoisseur of Fine Rhyme to return to shape in the music scene.
The video’s soundtrack is provided by N.O. Bricks and solidifies the artist’s position in the Hip Hop community. He confidently states,
“Between flows and shows, seen a lot of cats come and go. Gotta strike while the iron’s hot and climate’s optimal”.
Fans should anticipate his Five Finger Discount (EP) set to release this summer. In addition to recording new music, Slangston has been busy performing with live bands Fo On The Flo and MadFro. As a result of his hustle, he will be opening for Oddisee & Good Company at The House of Blues (NOLA) on May 16th.
He’s also earned a spot on the Hard Rock Rising 2016 – Rock Local / Win Global contest on June 1st, and at the Slumfest Hip Hop Festival on June 25th (STL).
