Revealed for the first time at this year’s MOBO awards, rap heavyweight Fekky performed stomping new track ‘Mad Ting, Sad Ting’, featuring Section Boyz, which was released last night via LINK UP TV.
The South London rapper has positioned himself at the forefront of a new generation of MC’s who are reinvigorating the British Rap and Grime scene. Touring the UK over the last two years and supporting the likes of The Game, Rick Ross, Boy Better Know and Wiley, Fekky has gained comparisons to his American counterparts, showcasing his huge live talent to crowds at the MOBOs.
The 28 year-old’s predominantly Trap-based beats and stark subject matter retain a huge energy and authenticity that are fused with his sense of humour, abundance of ad-libs and South London slang. Fekky’s compelling flow and menacing sounds also conjure the sorts of street dreams more commonly associated with U.S. rappers like Meek Mill, Y.G or Rick Ross.
Fekky was the most booked underground MC of 2013 and 2014. Booking all of the 60-plus dates without a manager or live agent, Fekky has spent much of the last two years touring the country and building up a core, dedicated fanbase. Fekky’s live triumphs include street anthems like ‘Rudeboy Ting’, ‘Bang’ and last year’s Dizzee Rascal featuring hit, ‘Still Sittin’ Here’, dominant in clubs across the country. His high octane performances and natural stage presence, which typically involve Fekky scaling speakers and stage diving, have helped build his following to epic proportions.
