Bossman Birdie launches the first instalment of a series of freestyles, hosted on GRM Daily and filmed by iconic Grime videographer Risky Roadz (That’s Not Me)
Calling the series M Bison, which originates from the Cap Com street fighters franchise and Bossman’s alter ego as the ‘boss of the bars’, Bossman ‘spazzes’ out over three minutes and 96 bars.
“I thought to myself instead of all the glam in terms of the quality of the shot, I wanted to shoot on an old school camera. Line them up with some fire. No one better than Risky Roads to do that – a Grime freestyle Don. I know him from back and in the day – from my old school days sparring”.
Bossman Birdie has steadily garnered a reputation as a skilled lyricist and built deep-rooted relationships with Grime’s leaders, making music from the age of 15 with Skepta, JME, Big H, and President T. Having featured on the ‘German Whip Remix,’ and original track ‘Wristbands’, featuring Skepta as well as Meridian Dan, last year Birdie dropped ‘My Yard,’ a massive statement of intent for the Londoner – defined as,
“The next big record from the Grime scene” by Mistajam.
