Chicago rapper JAMS The Flava Child releases new P-Funk drenched Hip Hop single, ALL I KNOW

JAMS The Flava Child cleverly blends funk and Hip Hop, creating a musical project unlike anything else. Inventing sounds, pushing boundaries and introducing live instruments to driving Hip Hop beats and rapid fire rhythms, has successfully allowed JAMS to craft songs incomparable to modern music.

Born in the UK settled down in Chicago, JAMS grew up listening to P-Funk records and the likes of James Brown and Curtis Mayfield. The influence of funk music is drenched in his writing and he exceeds in bringing funk and flavor all at once with the elevated energy of modern Hip Hop music. Combined with multi-layered hooks, candid rhythms and gritty raw beats, JAMS has established a signature sound, unique to his own.

JAMS upcoming release entitled ‘The Flava Child Experience’, found inspiration from the most trying years of his life. JAMS explains the music as a ‘step back perspective’ on his experiences in Chicago, during a challenging period where he worked three jobs at once, fell in and out of love and struggled with the loss of his best friend to a drug overdose.

“The album is the my reflection on the sacrifices things in life, spending time alone and never giving up, even though everyone around you thinks your crazy.” confesses JAMS. “When your on the path to greatness, God is gonna test you and throw the devil in your way just to make sure your ready to take everything your asking for”.

‘The Flava Child Experience’ is JAMS most prolific work to date. Produced by Bosnian born Nedo Melkic, JAMS succeeded in revolutionizing his sound. The two started working together after JAMS left college and eventually they moved in together. They spent months carefully developing and fusing sounds that turned out to be ‘The Flava Child Experience’.

Leading single ‘All I Know’, is inspired by the struggle and has a unique relentless energy to it. The single perfectly combines JAMS passion for old school funk, with his modern influences of Chicago Hip Hop, displaying his authenticity.

‘H.M.B.S’ demonstrates JAMS use of powerful poetic lyrics, strong beats and live instrumentation. The single successfully showcases his ability to conceive an individual and distinctive sound, personal to him.

JAMS describes his latest endeavour as, “Taking it upon ourselves to push the boundaries of music”.

Pushing boundaries meant experimenting with different sounds with JAMS was so dedicated to this he even pulled street performers off the Magnificent Mile in Chicago and into his home studio for a smoked out session.

With a growing fan base, JAMS is looking forward to the next chapter in his prolific musical journey.
