Soundcrash is hyped to announce an extremely rare performance from UK Hip Hop pioneer and living myth, Roots Manuva
Dubbed the voice of urban Britain, Rodney Smith, aka Roots Manuva’s bass-driven, wildly inventive electronic soundscapes span a career of over 2 decades and 6 studio albums. He has collaborated with artists such as The Cinematic Orchestra, Gorillaz, Nightmares on Wax, DJ Shadow and U.N.K.L.E.
His debut album, ‘Brand New Second Hand’ was awarded a Mobo for Best Hip Hop Act and almost 20 years on, is still revered as one of the most influential UK Hip Hop releases. His follow up album ‘Run Come Save Me’ saw a Mercury Music Prize nomination as well spawning his classic track ‘Witness’ (voted the greatest UK Hip Hop tune of all time by the readers of Hip Hop Connection).
Friday October 27th at The Troxy is an extremely rare opportunity to witness Roots Manuva in the flesh.
