Earth2Tom team up with Confucius MC for the debut single ROBOTZ, from their forthcoming album ONE
‘ROBOTZ’ sees Confucius question whether the robotic nature of today’s artists is making us think like robots ourselves. Shot by global faction, the video features cameos from UK Hip Hop heavyweights Micall Parknsun and M9.
Currently shutting down shows all over the UK you can catch Confucius MC supporting the legendary JEHST on the last leg of the ’44th floor UK tour’ this weekend.
Earth2Tom – Earth2Tom is a collaboration of two London Hip Hop producers Tom Foolery Beats and Charles the Earthman. Both have been shaping their sound and developing their style and taste for some years but they finally joined forces in 2013 to work on their first LP ‘One’ – a reference to the phrase ‘One Love’. ‘Robotz’ is the opening track and the first single from the project.
Tom Foolery Beats was a dj on London’s premier Hip Hop radio station Itch FM from 2014-15 co-hosting the Connoisseurs of Hip Hop show for 80 episodes with Skandouz of the FRSHRZ who executively produced the album and started the ClubFRSHRZ label.
Charles the Earthman is a self-confessed equipment fiend who is incredibly knowledgeable on the technical side of things. He has worked as a sound engineer for radio and live concerts most recently for Trailer TV in Deptford. His production is varied, prolific and badass.
Mixing and mastering was done by Jerome Hill at Starlight Studios in Tottenham Hale.
Club FRSHRZ is proud to present its first release: ‘ROBOTZ’ with vocal, instrumental and acapella from the highly anticipated debut album from Earth2Tom.
Confucius MC – South London’s Confucius MC is a unique voice, rising above the noise and cutting through the clichéd conversations.
The son of a Irish/British teacher and a Grenadian musician, the young Con fell upon the teachings of his namesake – the Chinese philosopher Confucius – after becoming enamoured with the movies of Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan and the like.
After buying Wu-Tang Clan’s iconic ’36 Chambers’ album with his high school work experience money the seed was planted. But it wasn’t until he heard A Tribe Called Quest’s Dilla-produced ‘Beats, Rhymes & Life’ that his own unique brand of lyricism began to blossom. Con has supported likes of Mos Def, Public Enemy and Slum Village.
His debut release ‘The Highest Order’(YNR Productions) – produced entirely by Parisian beat-smith Keor Meteor firmly established Confucius MC as one of London’s emerging new talents.
Currently supporting UK Hip Hop legend Jehst on his UK tour ‘Robotz’ is the pre cursor to his highly anticipated forthcoming ep ‘The Artform’ out in June 2017.
