As Sheffield based producer Walter Ego powers to drop his Dragon Ball Z inspired EP, SEVEN STAR BALL, we get a chance to check out one of the tracks, RAW

Walter Ego has been collaborating with an array of emcees and singers for a hot minute now, Slick Don, Trim, Rawkid, Winter Rose, Gavlyn, Blimes Brixton and more, but now returns with new EP, ‘Seven Star Ball’, comprised of three, hard-as-nails grime instrumentals.

Inspired by Dragon Ball Z, there are subtle references dotted throughout and raw energy that mirrors the Super Saiyan charge of Goku from the TV show.

‘Raw’ is the murky, 808 heavy hitter with Hitchcock-esque strings, ‘Sensu Beans’ follows with a more mindful and melodic edge whilst ‘Goku’s Legend’ closes with a discordant urgency — eerie synth top-lines and sparse percussion build-up then break out into a thunderous beat.
