Nottingham, UK based emcee Mez recently dropped the video for is track MAGNUM, produced by Diamondz, available via Last Gang
Following his spring release, ‘Normal Shoe’, Nottingham emcee Mez returns with an end of season shutdown by the name of ‘Magnum’. Produced by Diamondz (Bluku Music), the warping bass, galloping drums, sirens, air-horns and drum & bass rifts set off the energetic, charismatic and cheeky side of Mez’s lyrical genius. With a hook that is set to be one of the most reloaded this year, ‘Magnum’ is a dangerous addition to Mez’s growing catalog and profile, as well as being a gripping insight, for any grime fan, to his forthcoming arsenal of music.
Already a firm favourite on the circuit, regularly being referred to as ‘the MCs MC’, Mez has been called on by the likes of Skepta and D Double E to open at sold-out shows at Alexandra Palace and 02 Academy Islington, he’s supported Stormzy and Kano on tour and can also cite the likes of Boiler Room and Eskimo Dance as his mates. He has battled on Lord of The Mics and has frequented festival line-ups including Born N Bred and NASS, showing he’s no stranger to the big stage.
Beyond his cheeky demeanor, hype and being a general G in the grime scene, Mez stands out as something more than just an emcee. Having already boldly performed grime with a live orchestra alongside AJ Tracey for BBC Radio 1Xtra, Mez has also recently taken on a jazz improvisation with Henry Wu and his new Kamall Williams ensemble at the Red Bull Studios for an epic 10 minute, one take freestyle, showing this young stars fearlessness in putting his own stamp on grime.
Having grown up on a staple diet of Kano, D Double E, and the grime greats, Mez has provided the ideal accompaniment to wash it down within the shape of the energizing, refreshing and all-out quenching, ‘Magnum‘.
