Singer-songwriter Natty announces his new album, ‘Release The Fear’, alongside a brand new UK tour this November/December

The new album was recorded with the newly-established band the Rebelship and blends African beats, acoustic sounds, analog soundscapes and soaring melodies, coupled with Natty’s enlightening lyrics. Natty describes the album as a,

“Self-produced labor of love”.

Album track ‘Seasons Change’ featuring Alborosie and Busy Signal will be released alongside the stream via an official video created by Bashart Malik. The single package also features a special remix featuring Akala, Mic Righteous & Raspect Fyabinghi.

Natty explains the release is an autobiographical concept album that stands as an important part of his journey, he hopes it will also serve as a source of inspiration and strength to the listener,

“Stand up in Love (as opposed to fall), Giving thanks for life (I’m Alive) and many other tracks all are pillars within the Release the Fear state-of-mind”.

San Francisco born, London raised artist Natty is a treasured icon of the UK’s music scene. Since exploding onto the scene via Atlantic Records in 2008 with his debut album ‘Man Like I’, Natty has been entertaining a loyal and ever-growing fan base of people from all walks of life. Its success captivated the attention of the UK, and the rest of the world, the single ‘Badman’ was a number 1 hit in Japan. He was dubbed a ‘soul-reggae crossover sensation’ by The Telegraph. His live performances have taken him all around the world.

Natty says: “Bringing people joy and healing has been my greatest work”.

Performing on Later with Jools Holland, the ITV News and The BBC Electric Proms are amongst some of the TV highlights of Natty’s career. Artist collaborations include work with Nitin Sawhney, Roots Manuva, Tony Allen, Prince Fatty, Baba Maal, and Akala, which also led to touring with Ziggy Marley around USA, playing an unauthorised headline show in front of thousands in Khartoum, Sudan and performing in the U.N building (New York City) on World Humanitarian Day. Natty produces his own live music events under the moniker Vibes and Pressure.

Aside from his musical career, Natty has spent much time writing, traveling, and meeting with spiritual leaders in Africa and South America. He is involved with an orphanage in Gambia, as well as various community projects in Southern Africa and London.

“Becoming an independent artist was a big step in 2012, and then traveling to Africa, Jamaica and other parts of the world and getting in touch with the things that I was writing about, but maybe hadn’t really lived and things that I couldn’t have imagined. I spent a lot of time visiting Rasta elders, Amazon shamans, African spiritual elders and sacred sites. My time in Africa also led to my becoming involved with the erasefoundation.org. To date, we have built four schools and one orphanage that currently homes 60 children”.

Natty’s latest project ‘The Sacred Journey’ invites 8 people to join him on a journey of a lifetime to the Amazon rainforest in Brazil this November, culminating in a live performance out under the stars. This trip is aimed at people who are already on (or starting) a journey of self-discovery and want to connect with nature, the ways of the ancient people and connect with these words: Release the Fear.
