Prince George’s County, Maryland-based artist IDK partners up with Carol City, Florida’s Denzel Curry have dropped the visual for their track, NO WAVE
IDK is reinventing trap music. A self-proclaimed ‘socially conscious artist,’ IDK, which stands for ‘Ignorantly Delivering Knowledge’, has built a cult-like following since releasing his official debut, Sub Trap, in 2015. Following the release of his sophomore project, The Empty Bank, which was hailed as,
“Not only thematically innovative but musically superb” – Forbes.
IDK emerged as one of the most exciting new artists and earned ‘Best of 2016’ nods from XXL, Highsnobiety, Blavity, Hypebeast, DJBooth, UPROXX, and numerous others. IDK headed into 2017 with over 50 dates on the road with TDE’s Isaiah Rashad, performed on 12 SXSW showcases and was spotlighted in depth by The Washington Post, Forbes and Pigeons & Planes. IDK held fans over with a string of releases including the loosie ‘Blame My Friends,’ the video for ‘A Boy’s Innocence,’ and ‘OMW,’ the latter was featured on HBO’s hit original series ‘Insecure,’ and has since racked up over 2M streams.
In April, IDK announced during an exclusive interview with Billboard that he would be partnering with Adult Swim for the release of his forthcoming project. Released on October 13th, 2017, ‘I WAS VERY BAD’ earned critical acclaim as,
“One of the most well-tailored and moving projects of 2017” – DJ Booth.
The project plays out as a 35-minute soundtrack which explores the real-life narrative of IDK, detailing the pivotal moments that shaped his persona and led to his incarceration. Garnering praise from Pitchfork, Consequence of Sound, Genius, XXL, Complex, Highsnobiety and so many more, IDK is poised to make a lasting impact. Offering the first taste of his forthcoming visual series with the video for ‘PizzaShop,’ IDK is proving himself as,

A native of PG County, Maryland, IDK was born in London, England, moved to the United States at the age of 2, and grew up in a middle-class home before serving time in prison as a teenager. His perspective on life and his education undoubtedly changed after this lesson.His experience through the American criminal justice system coupled with his teenage years in the DMV gave him inspiration for his career as a rapper, a narrative he eloquently penned and shared with The Huffington Post last year. Rapping gave IDK an outlet for his creative expression while providing him a unique career path to tell his story to the masses. When asked if Hip Hop saved his life, IDK said,
“Definitely, man. There are no ifs or buts about that.”
