LA-based Bad Royale drop their new five track EP, RETURN OF THE KINGS via Steve Aoki’s label Dim Mak Records
Bad Royale’s powerful bass stylings come correct on their Dim Mak debut EP ‘Return Of The Kings’. Opening with ‘Hot Steppa‘, the group is joined by legendary Jamaican deejay Future Fambo for an anthemic fusion of dancehall and ferocious bass drops. They then team up with Richie Loop on ‘Lock Off Di Dance’, followed by ‘Push It’, highlighting ragga soca artist Bunji Garlin and Fay-Ann Lyons. The EP closes with a one-two punch via twerk-fueled ‘Malo’ featuring Rayna and ‘Bess Gyal’, a soulful soca track featuring Trinidad & Tobago’s Azaryah on vocals.
Return Of The Kings arrives after a phenomenal year for the producers. Last summer, Bad Royale played a major role on Steve Aoki’s critically acclaimed hip-hop album Kolony, collaborating on tracks ‘No Time’ featuring Jimmy October and ‘$4,000,000′ featuring Ma$e and Big Gigantic’, the latter which the group performed alongside Ma$e and Aoki on Live with Kelly and Ryan. Bad Royale maintained a heavy touring schedule, too, playing Electric Zoo and gracing international Dim Mak stages at Tomorrowland and in Montreal, before co-headlining their Summer Sound System tour alongside Henry Fong. In between rolling out recent singles ‘Lock Off Di Dance’ and ‘Hot Steppa’, the trio also joined Aoki’s US Kolony Tour this winter and performed alongside him and labelmates at Dim Mak Miami 2018.
With releases on Atlantic, Ultra, Anjunabeats, Toolroom, Spinnin’, Buygore, and Mad Decent, Bad Royale has come a long way since debuting in 2015. Their music has pushed the boundaries of dubstep, bass, moombahton, and seen the California-based group collaborate with acts such as Major Lazer, Diplo, Skrillex, Meghan Trainor, T-Pain, and Aloe Blacc. Recently, Bad Royale signed to Polydor/Interscope and also created their own sub-label ‘Rude Mood’ to promote music in the Caribbean, helping local artists find international success.
