New York City-based Princess Nokia drops the video to her track MORPHINE, taken from the Shape-Shifting New York emcee’s emo-inspired mixtape, A GIRL CRIED RED

‘Morphine’ is the latest video from Princess Nokia’s latest mixtape, A Girl Cried Red (Rough Trade Records). The shape-shifting emcee aka Destiny Frasqueri co-directed the video with Travis Libin and features Frasqueri and her friends taking their taking their DIY rave to NYC rooftops, playgrounds and streets. The track was produced by Flexatelli and the video features a short snippet of an unreleased track by Princess Nokia and Owwwls.

The dynamic and outspoken New York rapper has been releasing music via YouTube and Soundcloud since she was in high school and catapulted herself to the next level with her 2017 album ‘1992 Deluxe’, selling out venues across the globe and steadily gaining tens of millions of streams.

‘A Girl Cried Red’ showcases another fully formed side of Destiny that still taps into the uncompromising feminist ideology of Princess Nokia, and will undoubtedly cement her place in the alternative underground as well as the Hip Hop world.
