Just in time for Notting Hill Carnival, dancehall dons The Heatwave release the music video for new single, CLOSER TO ME, featuring Stylo G

‘Closer To Me’ is a grinding slice of raw dancehall with a hook line aimed directly at the clubs and street parties of Kingston, Jamaica, with longtime collaborator Jamaica-born, Londoner Stylo G on the vocals.

The music video says it all: filmed in Trench Town it features numerous world famous Jamaican dancehall queens in full performance mode. In various settings – from roadsides bars to concrete yards – they demonstrate in its purest form the dance skill that continues to have so much influence the world over.

‘Closer To Me‘ sits perfectly placed to make a huge impact at this years Notting Hill Carnival, where The Heatwave have been a regular fixture for the past decade. The Heatwave announces three carnival events for the bank holiday weekend.

Kicking off festivities on Friday 24th Aug, Lord of the Tings present Mixpak will be bringing straight carnival vibes to E1 in London with The Heatwave, alongside Dre Skull and Jubilee.

The Heatwave go B2B with Mixpak’s Dre Skull at SW4 on 26th Aug, with both musical trailblazers making their debut performances at the festival.

On Carnival Monday, 27th Aug, The Heatwave will perform on the Red Bull Music Mangrove Truck alongside dancehall and soca legends including Patrice Roberts, Iwer George and Voice, amongst others.
