Liberian-born, Finland-based singer-songwriter Jesse Markin drops his new track JERICHO, the latest offering from his upcoming album, which shows Jesse’s more sensitive and pictorial side
Following the successful release of his latest single ‘Treat’, Jese Markin returns with his new single ‘Jericho’, the latest taste of his forthcoming album. Where ‘Treat’ leaned strongly on danceable club rhythms and catchy vocal hooks, ‘Jericho’ showcases a more sensitive and pictorial side of his repertoire.
Speaking on the track Jesse explains, “To reach our goals we have to break down the walls holding us back. ‘Jericho’ is a song about letting go and trough that, finding peace. The name of the song came from the Old Testament, where the Israelites had to start from the walls of Jericho to get to their promised land. These walls can be found everywhere and that was the idea that led to a song”.
Liberian-born, Finland-based singer-songwriter Jesse Markin is known from a group called The Megaphone State in which he performed as a vocalist for 12 years. The group produced three critically acclaimed Hip Hop albums.
With his solo project, Markin takes leaps forward both musically and thematically and broadens his expression from rapping also to singing. Having been named ‘Newcomer of the Year’ by Finnish magazine Soundi, as well as picking up a nomination for ‘Breakthrough Act Of The Year’ in his native Finland, Jesse looks to break into the consciousness of UK audiences with the deep tones of ‘Jericho’. A real display of the versatility that Jesse possesses as a songwriter.
