Chicago, Illinois based all female Hip Hop collective recently dropped their new album SYNERGY, featuring Jovan Landry, Glitter Moneyyy, Jade Ivy, Tee Spirit, Tweak’G & more…

‘Synergy‘ is an all-women produced and performed Hip Hop album created by Jovan Landry. It features Chicago woman artists Jovan Landry, Glitter Moneyyy, Jade Ivy, Tee Spirit, Tweak’G, Sauda Muse, Sundé and JuJu MinXXX; and Producers Jovan Landry, Schenay, K Flow and _Qisum.

All of their content from their music videos, logo and photographs were also created by women/femme/gender non-conforming folks. The album embodies women collaboration, Chicago and women working in male-dominated fields. In May 2017, Jovan Landry received a grant in the Incubate Category from WeWork Creator Awards to make this album possible by compensating their collaborators, studio time, promotion, music videos, and events.

Speaking to the motivation behind the album, Jovan shares: “‘Synergy’ is the album that will inspire young girls and women in the arts, everywhere. Hip Hop was in desperate need for an album like this. Finally, it exists and Synergy can be used as a blueprint for Women in Hip Hop for years to come. I would love to see Hip Hop courses implement an album like Synergy in their curriculum, but because it’s about damn time”.
