Ahead of his UK support tour for Tech N9ne, UK rapper, manga author, law graduate & martial-art-trained Shao Dow recently dropped his latest single BURN OUT
Described as
“One of the hardest workers I’ve ever met in this industry”,
by Charlie Sloth following an explosive Fire In The Booth & as,
“One of the hardest working emcees in the game out here”,
by DJ Semtex, Shao Dow spearheads the first-ever university degree for Rappers and emcees at ACM (Academy Of Contemporary Music) this September.
Speaking on the release, Shao Dow says, “‘Burn Out’ was initially inspired by Joyner Lucas’ track ‘I Love’. I loved (lol) the vibe and the catchy hook and wanted to make something that was in that lane, but my own style. That’s how ‘Burn Out’ came about, I remember having the chorus stuck in my head for about 2 weeks before I even managed to put pen to paper. Musically it’s a different style for me, but you should expect that from me as standard by now. I’m always trying to be as versatile as possible”.
“Conceptually it’s all about pushing yourself past your limits and going until you can’t go anymore. I’ve gotta say, the second verse is one of my favorite verses I’ve written to date. The wordplay is next level, I’d definitely recommend reading the lyrics for the whole song to see some of the secrets I have hidden in the bars.”
Alongside the audio is the official music video which Shao Dow says,
“The music video is … look I almost died filming that video so you’d better like it. It has a horse, a sword, me in a snazzy hat and evil gnomes. What more could you ask for?”.
From winning the 2017 AIM Award for the ‘Hardest Working Artist’ and opening for the likes of Wiley, 6LACK, Ghetts, Stormzy, Skepta & KRS-One, Shao Dow is a force to be reckoned with, carving a unique path for many to follow.
