London, UK based recording artist/writer/actor Jordan Stephens drops his highly anticipated debut solo EP, P.I.G. [PAIN IS GOOD]
Musician, writer, and artist Jordan Stephens has released his highly anticipated debut solo-EP ‘P.I.G.’ (Pain Is Good). An exploration of love, the EP includes the beautiful and ethereal ‘Found In Space’ as well as the dream-like, euphoric ‘Shadow Love’. The ‘P.I.G.’ EP compromises of five tracks including new singles ‘Teach Me’, ‘Thunder’ and ‘WDYWFM’. Working with a plethora of producers on the project, Jordan discovered a new sonic, and one that has allowed him to learn more about himself in the process. (Harley & Ferg, Dan Holloway, Aston Rudi.)
An indication of where Jordan is at creatively and mentally, this EP is a thoughtful, relatable and at times humorous collection of anecdotes of his own experiences. Moving fluidly across the worlds of tastemaker talent and alternative POP, Jordan’s return to the music world has seen him championed by the likes of British Vogue, The Fader, Hunger, Wonderland, Paper Magazine, Notion and more. Very much the same energy, but with a wealth of new knowledge and understanding, this body of work covers sex, empowerment, mental health and more; but most importantly, LOVE.
Speaking on the EP, Jordan explains, “’P.I.G.’ is 5 expressions of the same battle. What I love most about making music is learning more about myself. I’ve had an unusual life and met a lot of people but it feels as though I’m only just meeting myself and it’s not easy. But so far, everything on the other side of discomfort seems promising”.
Fresh off the film-set of TUCKED, where he played the drag queen Faith, Jordan has seen incredible support for his acting and writing work, from the likes of The Guardian, Evening Standard, Q Magazine, Complex Magazine, BBC Radio 1, 5 Live, BBC 6 Music and more.
Having been publicly open with his own struggles surrounding mental health, outside of music Jordan has been very active in creating awareness around the stigma including his #IAMWHOLE campaign which reached over 120 million people online and was recognised by the Houses of Parliament. In between studio sessions, Jordan has written for The Guardian and been invited on TV and at festivals to discuss the effects that Hyper-Masculinity has on men’s wellbeing.
