South London based emcee Mr Ekow recently dropped his latest track/visual I AM HIP HOP

In Mr Ekow’s latest single ‘I Am Hip Hop’ the London rapper takes a nostalgic trip through Hip Hop’s most classic music videos. Serving up everyone from Missy Elliott to Kanye West, Mr Ekow pays homage to the greats while delivering his own bold delivery over jazzy chords and an infectious hook. Both the song and video are a bold declaration of his talent, as he positions himself as the next big name in Hip Hop.

Mr Ekow shares some of his thoughts on the song:

“I had a lot of fun writing ‘I Am Hip Hop’ and wanted to make sure that carried through to the video. So I teamed up with director Matt Bowie once again to deliver our most ambitious music video to date. While we couldn’t squeeze everyone in (sorry Busta), we took the time to meticulously recreate some of the most iconic scenes in Hip Hop. For me, this song represents the end of the beginning of my musical journey, it’s the first peak of many to come, and a reminder that I’m carrying the flame from past and present legends into the new decade”.

‘I Am Hip Hop’ features production from Grammy-nominated producer, Ian Green. The music video was shot, directed and edited by Matt Bowie, with costume assistance from Cheryl Fianko.
