South-East London based emcee/singer/producer Jim Legxacy is back with his latest track 4LEAFCLOVER
21-year-old Jim Legxacy is a highly experimental, creative, and honest artist that isn’t afraid to be vulnerable and on his new single ‘4LeafClover’, never has this been more true. His first release since his widely supported 2019 debut EP ‘Dynasty Program‘, this latest offering speaks volumes on talent and authenticity as this young rapper and producer who worked alongside Jay Mooncie in the studio to masterfully blend punchy, trap and African inspired percussion with electronic brooding synths. Sometimes gruff, sometimes soft and melodic, he effortlessly showcases his lyrical and tonal dexterity throughout.
Speaking on the track, Jim says, “I wanted to be able to remove any angst or pressure I felt from the outside world…This is a record where I freely pieced together a lot of my musical influences”.
A self-described angsty teen who felt without an outlet to express himself properly, when Jim Legxacy started creating music at 18 he never looked back. As he began exploring his sound as a producer and rapper, Jim took inspiration from the diverse range of music he fell in love with growing up; from alt-rock bands like Skillet and Sick Puppies, rappers including JPEGMAFIA and Kanye West and the Yoruba boy band Infinity. A refreshingly thoughtful and considered artist, his incredible 7-track debut EP ‘Dynasty Project’ which was widely supported by The Fader, Mixtape Madness, and more blended rock, Hip Hop, and R&B and confronted issues including racism, substance abuse, heartache, and family.
A deeply personal and honest body of work that quickly tipped Jim as ‘one to watch’, it’s release followed an intense period of a creative block which soon served as fuel for the sound you are hearing today on ‘4LeafClover’.
