East London based emcee Dutchavelli drops his highly anticipated mixtape DUTCH FROM THE 5TH, via Parlophone Records, accompanied by the visual for his track ZERO ZERO
After being responsible for some of the biggest UK rap singles of 2020, with ‘Only If You Knew’, ‘Surely’, ‘Bando Diaries’, ‘Bando Diaries Remix’, ‘Cool With Me’ featuring M1llionz, and a guest spot alongside Stormzy on Tion Wayne’s summer anthem ‘I Dunno’ under his belt, Dutchavelli has finally gifted fans with the release of the most highly anticipated mixtape of 2020 ‘Dutch From The 5th‘, out now via Parlophone Records.
The Clapton rapper gives fans an extra treat with the visuals for his track ‘Zero Zero’, lifted from the mixtape. Inspired by iconic films including The Godfather, Scarface, and Goodfellas, the dynamic visual for the track once again cements Dutchavelli at the forefront of the scene.
After what can only be described as a monumental year for the Netherlands-raised artist, on his new project Dutchavelli joins forces with highly esteemed names in the industry to grace our sound waves, such as rapper and songstress Ray BLK and Birmingham star M1llionz, to bring us a 16-track mixtape filled with high octane, gritty, lyrical finesse that you can only find from a rapper of Dutch’s caliber.
“I’ve left no stone unturned and worked as hard as I possibly can to make sure I can deliver within the expectations I’ve set for myself. I’m from E5, Clapton, and this is my introduction to the game. I’m Dutch From The 5th. That’s the title of my book opening” – Dutchavelli.
Bursting on to the scene and disrupting the game in the best way possible it comes as no surprise that Dutchavelli has become one of the most recognised names in the UK music scene. With both visuals for ‘Bando Diaries’ & ‘Bando Diaries Remix’ already racking up a combined 8.1M+ views (Bando Diaries trended #1 on YouTube) online within a month of release (Bando Diaries Remix trended in 7 countries and was viewed 1M+ in its first 24 hours).
His recent track ‘Cool With Me’ has garnered over a million streams on Spotify as well as going top 40 across the Spotify and Apple Music charts. Dutch continues to break the glass ceiling of what it means to be a new rapper on the scene, with every release, proving just why his new mixtape is set to break new boundaries. Speaking on ‘Cool With Me’ featured across the tape, Dutch explains,
“It’s self-explanatory. It’s talking about the streets. The reason I got M1llionz on there is that I’m a fan of what he does. I like to work on the love of the music. If I’m not in love with the music, I won’t do it, that’s when it becomes work. When me and M1llionz do music, it’s not work”.
Meanwhile on the Ray Blk assisted ‘Skr on Em’ he admires how she is able to switch things up musically, adding a completely different flavour. ‘Zero Zero’ touches on being in and out of jail and not only what Dutch himself went through during his time inside but also others.
“The track ends with a voice note from Fox. When I was inside it was with Fox. On the voice note, he’s saying it’s mad having gone from seeing my family on Snapchat to being out with them which was surreal for him”.
Not one to be defined, Dutch wants the tape to serve as a taster of what’s to be expected from him.
“I wanted to let them know that I’m not going to go too far down the road of just doing drill. It’s my first project. People are getting to know me. The tape is to get the listeners excited and see what’s coming next”.
Sporting an already impressive 31 weeks across the charts, with 25 of those being spent with two and more entries, Dutchavelli’s recent Top 10 hit with Tion Wayne & Stormzy ‘I Dunno’ has been streamed over 43M times, plus a Top 20 with M Huncho ‘Burning’, garnering 16M streams, Top 30 with ‘Cool With Me’ isn’t all he should be proud about. With five UK top 40 singles under his belt, a Noisey Magazine Cover Story in tow, and a starring role alongside Mancunian rapper Aitch, for Adidas’ Manchester United kit release advert, this only adds to his notch of accomplishments and boasts about Dutchavelli easily being one of the hottest and most sought-after rappers in the UK game. 2020 has officially become
“The year of Dutchavelli”,
for this unstoppable artist.
