South London, UK based emcee Wãvy May recently dropped the visual for his latest track BEEN A WHILE, produced by Tootone Sounds

‘Been a While’ is the hot new single to come from South London’s finest Wãvy May. Addressing his own recent absence from both his friends and his music, ‘Been A While‘ exposes the strain that the current climate of the world, Covid 19, unemployment, and expensive friendships have had on his personal life. Created with his producer Tootone Sounds, Wãvy May describes the writing process as natural and organic, having lots to say over the beat. ‘Been a While’ is a refreshingly honest recount of the last year, and we hope it’s not long till we hear from Wãvy May again.

Born in the UK, Wãvy May discovered his love and talent for rap while growing up in Ghana. Lyrically, the young Wãvy May is an artful narrator. His vibrant storytelling skills paired with a mesmerising smooth melodic flow are captivating and engaging. Often abstract in his narratives his unique style draws from his African upbringing coupled with dashes of influences by the likes of Skepta, Jay-Z, Asap Rocky, Kendrick Lamar, and J Cole. His debut EP ‘Looking For Me’ was released in 2016 and received critical acclaim, amassing thousands of streams and landing placements on LinkUp TV.

This was followed up in 2018 with his EP ‘Dreams and Bad Habits’. since then Wãvy May’s style and sound have continued to evolve and grow, with more fans being swept along for the ride. Bringing his charisma and talent to the live stage, Wãvy May has taken his live shows around the UK, U.S., and Ghana, performing at notable events such as SXSW Festival (Austin, Texas), A3C Festival (Atlanta), London’s O2 Islington, and has lined up a number of shows this summer.
