South London based Afro-pop rising Star Adenikè recently released her new R&B driven ADENIKE [DELUXE] EP, with production from Fli5Star, Brasco & BarnnyBeatz
Following strong support from the likes of Flaunt Magazine, Earmilk, MTV Base, KISS FM, BBC Radio London, Apple Music, and audiomack in the past 12 months, and recently surpassing half a million streams on Spotify, on the strength of last summer’s breakaway single ‘Tonight’ and her mini-EP from earlier this year, South East London Afropop singer and songwriter Adenikè is excited to announce the release of her brand new ‘Adenike [Deluxe]‘ EP, led by two brand new lead singles, ‘Feeling It’ and ‘Ready’ featuring fast-rising British Nigerian artist and fellow South London native AdeJosh.
Written by Adenikè and executive produced by Nii Saul aka Fli5Star (J Hus, NSG, Afro B, Kida Kudz) for Afrisounds, with production from the likes of German hitmaker Brasco (Kalim, Lucio101, Eunique) and Finland-based Ghanaian beatsmith BarnnyBeatz (Moelogo, Zoey Dollaz), the ‘Adenike [Deluxe]’ EP is a gloriously captivating 5-track project with resounding R&B and Afrobeat sensibilities, led by Adenikè’s enthralling vocals, lush melodies, and relatable songwriting, over captivating soundscapes characterised by opulent drums, splendid synths, infectious basslines, and excellent musicality.
Thematically, the EP is inspired by love, trust, and some of the good and bad choices that we make in our relationships. The project opens with fan-favourite ‘Enough’, which sees Adenikè standing up against toxic relationships and demanding better for women, before swinging the other way by the third song ‘Sweet Love’, which, as the title suggests, is an ode to being head over heels in love with someone. The EP then leads into ‘Ready’, with Adenikè and AdeJosh showing off their chemistry on the bold afro-swing-esque track, before wrapping with the feel-good offering ‘Feeling It’.
Born and raised in South East London with Nigerian heritage, Adenikè, whose name means,
“The Crown Is Cherished”,
has always been very musically inclined and from as early as 13-years old, she has known that she wanted to be a musician. As a teenager, she honed her skills by writing and recording songs with her elder brother and has continued to develop her impeccable sound and distinctive style since then. With H.E.R, Tiwa Savage, and Burna Boy serving as her inspiration, Adenikè is ready to take her UK Afropop and Afro-R&B flavour to the world stage.
