Brisbane, Australia based recording artist J Nui recently released his track BUILT DIFFERENT

J Nui’s music was never going to be one of simplicity. As an Australian rapper and producer of Māori descent, J Nui started out with bedroom production rooted in Hip Hop and has quickly established himself as an artist able to reinvent himself on every track, artfully pushing the boundaries of his sound. He has leaned into the Hip Hop influenced rap he is now synonymous with. Down-to-earth, candid lyricism melds into the beat of his creations. The origin of the name J Nui stems from J Nui’s heritage. His mother is English, and his middle name is James so that is where the J comes from. Nui is from his father’s side which is Maori and comes from his last name Ranginui. Nui in the Maori language means to be large, big, plentiful, numerous…. great!

J Nui’s matter-of-fact attitude advises his listeners that although life can get you down, you can always get yourself up again. His advice is universal, owing to his Māori heritage. His overriding hope is that although everyone is built differently, with unique connections and life experiences, we can all unite to build ourselves up if they’ve ever felt down, felt failure, or been doubted.

From his debut single to now, J Nui has garnered incredible support from MTV, Apple Music, Triple J, and a wealth of Radio stations. With his upcoming release, the returns of gigs, and festivals, J Nui’s 2021/22 is set to be big.
