Urban Vault caught up with Toronto, Canada-based recording artist Eutcha to ask him some questions about his music & more…
Emerging from humble beginnings, Eutcha has made it clear that he’s not in music for fame or fortune, but to stand as a symbol of autonomy. As he continues his journey, he maintains his ultimate aim: to guide listeners to their highest potential. His stage name ‘Eutcha’ holds significance as a tribute to his grandfather, a passing of the torch from one generation to the next of sorts.
What is your name and where are you from?
My name is Eutcha Hutu, and I was born in North America, but my ethnicity is Congolese from RDC Congo.
How old are you?
I am currently 21, as of this year.
How long have you been making music?
I have been making music for the past 3 years but never got the chance to fully release any of my projects yet.
How many songs/albums have you released to date?
So far, I have only released 2 songs. One from last year the other from this year.
Can you tell us about your latest track ‘Keep Moving On’, the background, and the inspirations behind it?
The new song ‘Keep Moving On’ was made for people who struggle to move forward in life when certain events happen and tie them down. I started making this song last year and was planning on releasing it during winter. Sadly, my mother passed away before I could ever release it. It was a tough time for me and my family but in the end, we stuck together and moved forward for our mother. I’ve altered it quite a bit compared to the one I made the year before, but I knew I just had to finish and release the song. My mother is the reason why I’ve made this song. My family is the reason why I am the person I’ve become today. We will always stick together and keep moving forward.
How have you ended up in the music industry?
I have ended up in the music by making songs and interacting with other artists. I am still a new artist so I am not very experienced yet, but I will continue to learn and succeed to become a great artist worth listening to.
What do you think of the music industry in 2023?
By coming into the music industry, I finally understand what it means to be a music artist. Other artists treat this as a full-time job, others as a hobby, but one thing for sure is that I will now take music seriously and become a successful artist.
What have you got planned for the rest of 2023?
As the year is closely ending, I have decided to take action and take the chance to develop my music skills as an artist. I am planning on releasing one more song and a music video worth watching by the end of the year.
What inspires you when you make your music?
My family. In the beginning, nobody took me seriously when I said that I would be an artist one day. So, I took matters into my own hands to show that I am serious about what I want to do for myself. The only people who believed in me at the time were my family. Without them, I don’t think I would’ve been able to keep making music until this day.
Who have you collaborated with so far in your career?
So far, nobody. I’m still a new artist in the music industry so I want to take my time to develop my music skills before I collaborate with anyone.
Who would you like to collaborate with in the future?
The person I would like to collaborate with in the future is not very known but he’s very talented and I’ve been listening to his music since 2019. His name is Kid Travis, and he has a very nice voice when it comes to singing.
What’s your favourite track at the moment?
My favourite track at the moment is obviously my new single ‘Keep Moving On’, but if I had to pick a song that doesn’t belong to me, I would pick ‘Fantasy’ by Mariah Carey.
What do you do when you’re not making music?
I usually spend my time either studying new things to keep myself busy going to the gym to keep myself in shape, spending time with my family by going out, or just staying home and relaxing.
Which do you prefer, Facebook Twitter, or Instagram?
Between the three, I would say Instagram.
In a few words sum up your thoughts about Urban Vault and what we’re trying to do.
In my understanding, Urban Vault is interviewing me as the artist who’s trying to make it. I know a little about them because of Instagram and their websites and I find it quite amazing.
Thank you for your time and may you carry on making dope, fresh music…
