South London-based producer and DJ Skepsis & Bristol-based rising Drum & Bass star Brodie join forces for organ-driven anthem DOUBLE VISION

D&B singer/songwriter Brodie is a rising force whose passion for the power of the rave defines everything she does and together with UK bass veteran Skepsis who exploded onto the scene in 2015, they join forces for their striking, organ-driven drum and bass anthem ‘Double Vision‘. Hot on the heels of Brodie’s debut solo release ‘Rig Fairy’ which saw nods from BBC Radio 1 (Charlie Tee, Arielle Free), NME, Clash, and more, Brodie’s second track is both a continuation of her authentic sound and a fearless introduction to her versatile storytelling. For Skepsis, who has been climbing the charts with hits ‘Rave Out’ with Turno and Charlotte Plank and 2024 follow-up ‘Green & Gold’ featuring Rudimental and Riko Dan, he continues to tease fans with his recent sound.

Alongside Skepsis’ stellar production that boasts an M1 rave organ sound akin to classic 90s house records, Brodie’s hi-octane vocals are paired with unapologetic confidence as she gets deeply candid. Written about ‘seeing double’ under the influence, ‘Double Vision’ is deftly ambiguous as Brodie highlights her deep connection with underground rave culture whilst reflecting on a challenging time in her life when seeing ‘Strangers in her Kitchen’ was not uncommon.

Speaking about the single, Brodie explains, “Double Vision is definitely a very personal one for me lyrically. I wrote this tune about the time in my life where my mum had moved to Scotland and left me in her house for about 6 months by myself.. and as a 17-year-old you can probably imagine the chaos every day. I would wake up each morning to a huge array of people drinking and doing all sorts 24/7, still on it from the night before. It was an endless cycle. I literally had strangers knocking on my door at all hours of the day begging to come in. Every day I told myself ‘Never again’ but I guess I didn’t listen. I do not recommend hosting the ‘Party House’ as this was the most chaotic time of my life but at least it gave me the inspiration to write a tune about it now”.

Skepsis said, “Double Vision is one of my favourite records I’ve ever worked on. The moment I heard Brodie’s vocal over the beat, I couldn’t get it out of my head. I feel it’s a good continuation of my recent sound, and hope you enjoy listening as much as we did making it”.

Originally teased during Skepsis’ debut ‘Drumsheds’ performance (alongside P Money, whilst blending it into ‘Off The Ground’ by Sub Focus), the track has already become a hot topic in the drum and bass community. Inspired by her ample knowledge of and deep connection to drum and bass, Brodie was ‘born in the rave’, living and breathing the culture. From discovering the genre at 7 years old to rocking up to a DJ Storm and Stamina MC set at age 13, this die-hard attitude is perfectly continued in Brodie’s latest track.
