What is your name and where are you from?

My name is MC Fizzy, and I’m from South London, UK.

How old are you?

I made a track that went to the charts in 2001 so can you figure it out?

How long have you been making music?

I’ve been performing as an emcee since about 12/13 and making music since I was 18.

How many songs/albums have you released to date?

I’ve released multiple singles over the years, including my latest track, “Wrestlemania.” I also have an EP coming called Fizzy Don.

Can you tell us about your new release, the background, and the inspirations behind it?

My new single, “Wrestlemania,” blends elements of Grime, UK Garage, and Hip Hop. The inspiration behind it comes from my love of entertaining crowds and creating music that brings energy and excitement. I produced the track myself, which many people don’t know, and it’s all about delivering that knockout vibe, like in a wrestling match. Would love for the guys at Wrestlemania to hear it and like it.

How have you ended up in the music industry?

Music has always been a part of my life. My dad had a sound system, and my brother was into DJing, so I grew up surrounded by music. I started out as the young one who could entertain on the mic, and eventually, I turned that passion into a career.

What do you think of the music industry in 2024?

The industry has changed a lot over the years. Talent alone isn’t always enough to break through; networking and being in the right place at the right time are key. It’s definitely more challenging now, but persistence pays off.

What have you got planned for the rest of 2024?

I’m focused on releasing more music and collaborating with other artists. I’m also working on some exciting projects with Unit 10 and MC Melo D. Expect to hear a lot of different sounds from me, from UK garage to grime and beyond.

What inspires you when you make your music?

I draw inspiration from everything around me – life experiences, the energy of live performances, and the desire to push boundaries. I love experimenting with different genres and keeping my sound versatile.

Who have you collaborated with so far in your career?

I’ve worked with some amazing artists in the UK scene, including MC Melo D from the Drum & Bass world, and I’m producing tracks with Unit 10, who are doing some great things in the rap scene.

Who would you like to collaborate with in the future?

I’m always open to new collaborations, but I’d love to work with more international artists to expand my sound further. Artists like Wretch 32 and Dave would be incredible to collaborate with.

What’s your favourite track at the moment?

Right now, I’m really feeling ‘Wrestlemania’, my latest single. It’s got that perfect energy for live shows.

What do you do when you’re not making music?

When I’m not making music, I’m staying active. I’m actually a qualified personal trainer, so fitness is a big part of my life.

Which do you prefer, Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram?

Instagram is my go-to platform. It’s great for connecting with fans and sharing updates in real time. You can follow me @fizzy_don.
