Manchester, UK-based Innovative duo Faru unleashes their latest enchanting anthem LABYRINTH
UK duo Faru’s latest release, ‘Labyrinth‘, is a reflective dive into nostalgia with a cutting-modern edge. Influenced by classic Trip-Hop and vintage Hip Hop rhythms, the track began with a driving drum pattern and an unexpected vocal find on YouTube which sparked a spontaneous writing session. The resulting composition merges that unmistakable old-school Hip Hop sound that denoted the late 90s with contemporary flair, inspired by artists like Neroche, ArtAknid, and Ours Samplus, the track clearly draws inspiration from the likes of Eminem’s ‘Stan,’ with emotive strings and gentle piano melodies. ‘Labyrinth’ is designed to motivate listeners to tap into their deepest inner reserves and to unveil ‘the magic that lies within.’ – certainly not one to miss out on!
Faru is a Manchester-based Trip-Hop and Lo-Fi duo, formed by two producers who met while studying at university. The producer pair brings together the distinct talents of a classically trained violinist and a self-taught bassist and producer lending to create a blend of classical and Hip Hop influences. Originally performing as part of a larger band, Faru gradually evolved into producing downtempo beats, with a focus on Trip-Hop and lo-fi sounds. Early releases were experiments in finding a musical direction, but as they refined their use of samples and developed a signature sound, they discovered a growing audience for their calming and inspiring music. The name Faru, meaning ‘the journey’ in Old English, encapsulates what the group is all about. Boasting an impressive array of collaborations with various artists, Faru have continually expanded their musical palette which has fueled their inspiration for each and every release. In addition to their music, Mark, one-half of Faru, is a professional graphic designer with over 10 years of experience. He creates all of the band’s artwork which acts as a direct reflection of their sound. Faru’s music and artwork work in harmony, offering listeners a cohesive and immersive experience that they aim to continue exploring.
