UK-based emcee Wild Samson drops his new NO RETREAT, NO SURRENDER EP, featuring D7, Trademark Blud, Hazz, & Airklipz, via Nyark Music

There is no doubt that Wild Samson is one of the hardest-working artists in the game. With a string of solid EPs and two amazing albums under his belt, he has also released joint collaborative projects with Statik Selektah, ILL Gordon from Chicago, and label mate Hazz, and back in January released an EP with London wordsmith Airklipz. Now the Nyark general is back with a highly anticipated six-track EP that takes listeners on a mind-bending journey through the world of abstract Hip Hop.

Wild Samson has blended innovative production from Unfaced, Beatenaunt, Mr. Wah, and Mister Mike with intricate, thought-provoking lyricism, off-kilter flows, and surreal, yet poignant storytelling skills. The result is ‘No Retreat, No Surrender’, a project that breaks free from conventional structures and embraces creativity. Rappers D7, Trademark Blud, Hazz, and Airklipz all feature as does Snowgoon’s official turntablist DJ TMB. Each track on the EP is a sonic exploration that challenges traditional Hip Hop rules and is set to capture the attention of listeners who crave more than just mainstream rap. The title track ‘No Retreat No Surrender’ gets the proceedings underway which see Samson employ the talents of D7 as the glide over a flute-led groove produced by Unfaced. Beatenaunt gives us the first of two beats with ‘Power To The People’, a political lyrical onslaught that sees UK heavyweight Trademark Blud feature. ‘Supreme Chinoism’ sees the man with the masked persona go hard with DJ TMB providing some killer cuts. ‘The King Has Risen’ once again shows Samson’s commitment to authenticity with a superb beat from Unfaced. Next up is ‘Masterclasses’ produced by Beatenaunt and featuring Nyark regular Hazz with the last track being the Mister Mike-produced ‘Dinner Scraps’ featuring Airklipz.

The release proves that abstract forward-thinking Hip Hop is far from dead, and also shows that Wild Samson as an artist is evolving. The future looks brighter than ever with Wild Samson’s unique sound and fearless approach to music hitting the spot with music fans who like their music a little more experimental, and complex with boundary-pushing sounds.
