Tallahassee, Florida-based via Mississippi recording artist ICEY recently released her new track/visual POP IT

ICEY is proof that you can come from a small town and still have a big voice. Raised in Carthage, Mississippi, where the roads are dusty and everybody knows your business, ICEY’s been drawn to music since she was a kid, whether it was singing in church, joining girl groups, or hitting the stage for talent shows. But it wasn’t until 2020, during the pandemic, that she found her lane in Rap. What started as a way to vent turned into something real.

One studio session led to another, and before long, ICEY realised Rap was her calling. Now living in Tallahassee, Florida, and signed to NNGE Records, she’s bringing that same raw honesty and fearless energy to every track she touches. ICEY makes music for the women who stay solid, who grind hard, and who know they deserve the spotlight, whether it’s the club, the cookout, or somebody’s baby shower. If ICEY’s on the aux or the mic, it’s a good time.

ICEY is stepping into the spotlight with her new single, ‘Pop It‘, and it’s exactly what the title suggests: a celebration of finally getting your moment and going all in. Fueled by the mindset of the underdog who’s been patiently waiting for her time, ICEY made this one for herself, but it’s guaranteed to hit for anybody who knows what it feels like to work in silence and wait for the right time to shine. Produced by J from NNGE Records, ‘Pop It’ is all ICEY, no features, no co-writers, just her and her pen. Boasting a dense sonic soundscape of heavy 808s, horns, synths, and a marching band bounce that throws it back to early 2000s club days, but with a fresh twist, it’s the ideal party anthem.

Recorded at Goldie Sound in Tallahassee and finished at NNGE’s studio in Dallas, ‘Pop It’ is a tantalizing preview of ICEY’s highly anticipated upcoming EP.
