East London-based artist SHAY Khushrenada is launching his first solo single, WHAT I LIKE,  marking a bold new chapter in his musical journey

This hard-hitting Hip Hop track playfully dives into the lifestyle & everyday hustle of inner city living. Seen through the lens of Shay’s love for London streetwear, fashionable women, and the inevitable rat race to get it by any means. It champions the idea that even through loss and hardship, life is about the little things we enjoy and should not be overcomplicated. Instead of embracing unapologetic living and never lose focus on our goals.

Crafted during a phase of resolute determination, with the mindset of making it work no matter what, SHAY Khushrenada connected online with producer MBWAV, allowing the song to flow organically. Featuring a growling bassline that evokes the power of a cranked-up amp, What I Like pulses with East London grit, balanced by playful vibes and a hook that lingers. Recorded at The Recording Studio London, this release promises to ignite 2026 with energy.

Having spent years as part of the rock/metal band The Doberman Boys, SHAY Khushrenada now steps forward as a solo force, blending his diverse influences into something fresh and formidable.

SHAY Khushrenada is an artist hailing from East London, crafting a singular sound built from Grime, Hip Hop, and alternative Rock. A student of multiple genres, he began freestyling on UK Rap channels before experimenting with conscious rap in his early solo work. He later co-founded The Doberman Boys, a rap/metal quartet that went on to win AFROPUNK’s London Battle of the Bands in 2019. This victory led to a performance at AFROPUNK Johannesburg, sharing the stage with artists such as Solange and Masego. The group recently released their EP ‘Materia’, continuing to push the boundaries between rap and heavy alternative music.

Now returning to his solo path, SHAY Khushrenada is stepping into a new era, defined by grit, atmosphere, and forward-leaning energy. His sound blends sharp lyricism with dark, immersive production, pulling threads from the worlds that shaped him.
