The golden era of 90’s Hip Hop was bursting with influential groups, few more so than the two legendary outfits Lords of The Underground and Das EFX that perform together for the first time ever in the UK.
Both acts are famed for their funk driven bangers that helped define the sound of East Coast Hip Hop and sound as powerful today as when released 20+ years ago. As part of EPMD’s Hit Squad alongside the likes of Redman and Keith Murray Das EFX were an instant hit on the release of their 1992 debut ‘Dead Serious’. Their fast paced dancehall influenced style saw them stand out from the crowd and saw them go on to work with the like of DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Easy Mo Bee & DJ Scratch on their brilliant follow up albums ‘Straight Up Sewaside’, ‘Hold It Down’, ‘Generation EFX’ & ‘How We Do’.
The Marley Marl produced LOTUG debut ‘Here Come The Lords’ was a stone cold classic featuring the floor-filling hits ‘Funky Child’, ‘Chief Rocka’ & ‘Flow On’; all of which have stood the test of time. This was followed by the equally funky ‘Keepers of the Funk’ and two more full length albums ‘Resurrection’ & ‘House Of Lords’. They continue to bring that energy captured on wax to the stage so hold tight.
