Urban Vault caught up with Dutch songstress SAAL to ask her some questions about her music, inspirations and collaborations, prior to the release of her debut release ‘Signs’ out October 9th…
Of Dutch and Indian descent with a proportion of her family residing in South America, SAAL needn’t look far for styles to influence her sound. SAAL welcomes her roots into her music with open arms and the evidence of her eclectic background is crystal clear. Her productions are a testament to her talents and the influences that have created the link between the two. Since moving to London, SAAL has set up her own recording studio, allowing her to record and produce her own vocals and enabling collaborations with a host of electronic producers. Amsterdam, beyond providing her with a degree in music management, also kickstarted her now true love: electronic music. Bass, breakbeats, progressive house and trance have all played a monumental role in her soundscape; enhancing her desires to delve deeper underground and create music that’s dark, effective and laced with hyper-modern energy.
