MAYDE, formerly known as NautilusMC, has lived a life embedded in music, culture, and personal struggle. The combination of his West African roots and upbringing in the Northwest State of Washington, have given him many diverse influences that are clearly reflected in his music.

Bursting into the underground Northwest music scene, MAYDE started his early career battling competition on the streets and onstage, winning a number of local freestyle competitions. As he continued to develop, his onstage presence was taken to another level defining himself as a truly talented solo artist. Opening for a number of acts such as Wu-Tang, Mos Def, and Talib Kweli MAYDE solidified his presence in the NW up and down the I-5 corridor from Seattle to Portland.

His Positivity & Visions of a Dreamer mixtape projects garnered a lot of attention both in the local scene and nationally. Well known for his incredibly energetic live performances, his music helped further define the voice of the growing melting pot of artists bubbling out of Seattle. Transitioning to the Los Angeles area to pursue more all around entertainment opportunities proved to be a great turning point for the aspiring artist. Working on a number of film projects and releasing his album DayDreamin, MAYDE was able to establish his name to a new, growing fan base. The album project resonated a new sound and showcased him to the world with a unique delivery and inspiring message.

His new Magna Cum Laude EP and official name change to MAYDE sets the stage for a completely different voice from this still growing artist. The EP explores the institution of education from a unique perspective, utilizing his collegiate educational experience to tell stories typically not heard in Hip Hop. Complete with notable production credits, he looks to set his style and message apart.
