Highly acclaimed rapper and MC Ghetts and prolific producer Rude Kid have collaborated on #SixFiveThree, a high-energy project that remains synonymous with both Ghetts and Rude Kid’s strong, individual identities and experimental musical styles. #SixFiveThree, represents six tracks, recorded in five days, supported by three videos.
Launched at East London venue The Laundry on Wednesday November 18 with live performances from Ghetts and Rude Kid, who performed #SixFiveThree in its entirety to a packed-out crowd, and revealed some special guests in Kano, Giggs, Tinchy Stryder, Jammer, Frisco, Mercston and Yinka. Kano performed Garage Skank freestyle, Giggs with Who’s Dat? and Jammer, plus Frisco, Mercston and Tinchy Stryder, #SixFiveThree is out now, and is currently storming the iTunes chart.
Saturated with hard-hitting lyrics, familiar samples and aggressive ad libs, #SixFiveThree is a mature body of work that pays homage to both artists’ undeniable talent and innovation while highlighting their current musical direction within the grime and urban UK scene. One of the cornerstone producers within the underground grime scene, Rude Kid showcases his perfectly balanced production style on #SixFiveThree, combining the traditional staple grime sound with experimental sounds. Rude Kid’s polished beats act as a solid backdrop for Ghetts’ inimitably energetic and moody performance.
Ghetts and Rude Kid had an ambition: recording a six-track EP in five days, simultaneously producing three videos and launching with an unforgettable event, with music at its core, and Relentless was keen to support their vision. #SixFiveThree was recorded and mixed at the studios at Relentless at Number Five on London’s Denmark Street.
