SHINOBI NINJA – BANG BANG (Music Video)

The six-piece, Punk, Metal and Hip Hop mash-up band, Shinobi Ninja, release ‘Bang Bang’, the first single from their collection of singles, ‘FunBang’.

Ebony raves: “Blending the lifting melodies of reggae with the volume of metal and the rhythm of Hip Hop, Shinobi Ninja is like an out-of-control house party”.

Shinobi Ninja is comprised of Baby G (vocals), Duke Sims (vocals), DJ Axis Powers (turntables), Alien Lex (bass), Kid Shreddi (guitar) and Terminator Dave (drums). Prior to forming Shinobi Ninja in 2008, Baby G worked with major-label acts, including Rihanna, P.Diddy, Cassie and Santigold, as a singer and dancer. The twins, Terminator Dave and Kid Shreddi, ran their boutique recording studio, The Sound Machine, in Manhattan with Alien Lex. Duke Sims was a producer and engineer at Progressive Studios and DJ Axis Powers was an accomplished club and battle DJ. Since the inception of the band, they have shared the stage with The Black Keys, Slightly Stoopid, Robert Glasper, Erykah Badu, Snoop Dogg, Matt and Kim, Das Racist and many more. They have performed at notable New York venues, such as Brooklyn Bowl, Gramercy Theatre, Highline Ballroom, Mercury Lounge and Rough Trade, in addition to countless music festivals including Catalpa Music Festival, Orlando Nerd Fest, Nerdapalooza, SXSW, CMJ, Summerfest and appearances on The Vans Warped Tour.

The band broke new ground with their 2010 video game album app, ‘Shinobi Ninja Attacks’, which sold 15K copies on iTunes. The video game/album app was the first-of-its-kind and rewarded users with a soundtrack download after successful game play or checking-in via GPS at the band’s shows. The debut album and game paved the way for the band’s single, ‘Rock Hood’, to be featured on popular video game, NBA 2K12, which sold 5.5 million units worldwide, and led to MTV and MTVU video rotation, a feature on season two of Comedy Central’s ‘Broad City’, headlining sets at SXSW, national tours, CMJ showcases, interviews on Fuse TV and more.

Shinobi Ninja is now wrapping up their 2015 tour. For the grand finale, the band will perform in Texas with Fishbone and Dumpstaphunk, then go on to headline shows in Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina and Philadelphia.

“Blending the lilting melodies of reggae with the volume of metal and the rhythm of Hip Hop, Shinobi Ninja is like an out-of-control house party” – MTV/Iggy.
