The forces collide on this mammoth remix as unstoppable DJ/producer, Rude Kid teams up with long-term collaborator, Ghetts to whip up the remix for the latest Chase & Status single ‘Spoken Word’.

Selected by Annie Mac as her ‘Hottest Record in the World’, the Rude Kid remix of ‘Spoken Word’ debuted on BBC Radio 1 the day prior to releasing his own single ‘Peng Tings’, also featuring Ghetts.

In typical Rude Kid fashion, it’s unapologetic from the get-go. It takes the sweeter tones from the original and gets dark and bassy real quick! There’s a frenetic feel to it as the melodies play out from a fairground organ, a manic laugh haunts the beat and the alarm bells start to ring.

Ghetts comes through like a lyrical monster onthe verses as the track gallops at pace before lulling you in to a sense ofcalm as George The Poet’s hypnotizing voice takes over the bars. The whole thing plays out like a façade to tease you in to the unknown as Rude Kid comes firing straight back in with a chopped and screwed ‘Rozalla’ vocal, taken from the original Chase & Status record to get the track pounding back to speed.

The latest addition to the Kiss FM DJ roster, Rude Kid has recently announced the launch of his brand new #KissGrime show, which broadcasts every Sunday at 10pm. His DJ skills have also recently seen him DJ alongside Chase & Status throughout the UK as well as superclub ‘Amnesia’ in Ibiza and ‘Glastonbury’ before he hits further festivals including ‘Wireless’, ‘Reading & Leeds’ and ‘Lovebox’ throughout the summer.
