Australian emcee Losty seeks redemption in high-spirited single TAKING BACK, featuring Joe Coffee
One of Australia’s most notable MC’s, Losty is back and he is taking back his creative control! After years of being the front-man for a variety of bands, Losty returns to his solo career with his new single ‘Taking Back’ featuring the soulful stylings of singer/songwriter Joe Coffee.
‘Taking Back’ comes as a product of experiences from Losty’s time working as a touring host at festivals such as Steresonic, Big Day Out, Future Music Festival and Defqon 1, working with the likes of Diplo, What So Not, and DJ Snake to name a few.
These experiences are reflected in the single by the bassier, synth-electronic breakdowns provided by producer Aaron Lee (Sammi Constantine, Northie, Airports), undertoned by more indie qualities contributed by vocals from Joe Coffee. Together everything is rounded out with hard hitting verses from Losty, that add some punch to this ballad of retribution.
With Losty’s triumphant return, it seems that he’s able to take on the world!
“The last time I released music was at the end of 2014. Since then, so much has changed in my life. I’m now a Dad. This track is produced by Aaron Lee who is one of my longest lasting friends in the music game and features vocals from Joe Coffee. If you ever wanted to take something back in your life, whether it be your independence, your freedom, your heart, your direction, your creativity, your choices or your happiness… this song is for you. For me, this is a story of redemption. After years of being the front man for various bands, I’m now a fully soloartist and I feel like it’s time to take back control of my creative direction”.
