Sydney based emcee Losty drops the visual to his high-spirited single, TAKING BACK, featuring Joe Coffee

‘Taking Back’ featuring Joe Coffee is the first single by Australian power house Losty in three years – following the release of his critically acclaimed EP ‘Legacy: Chapter One – Starting Again’ which was released in 2014. The single is the first drop from Losty’s highly anticipated debut LP, expected to drop this summer.

Following the release of ‘Taking Back’ featuring Joe Coffee in late-April 2017, Losty shot to the Top 10 domestically on Australia’s Triple J Unearthed charts – peaking at #3 on the main charts after one week of release.

The music video chronicles the past three years in Losty’s career, which have seen him tour with the likes of Lupe Fiasco, B.o.B, Nelly, Diplo, Kid Cudi and DJ Snake to name a few. Mixing tapes from Losty’s extensive archive of performance footage, some of which never-before-seen, with picturesque scenes from across Australia’s stunning landscape, it truly puts him on the map as a rapper that cannot be ignored.

‘Legacy: Chapter One – Starting Again’ (2014) peaked at #3 on the iTunes Hip Hop/Rap Charts in the first week of released. The lead single, ‘Millionaire’ was playlisted on MTV Worldwide and was featured as ‘Single of the Day’ on music networks internationally.

“The last time I released music was at the end of 2014. Since then, so much has changed in my life. I’m now a Dad. This track is produced by Aaron Lee who is one of my longest lasting friends in the music game and features vocals from Joe Coffee. If you ever wanted to take something back in your life, whether it be your independence, your freedom, your heart, your direction, your creativity, your choices or your happiness… this song is for you. For me, this is a story of redemption. After years of being the front man for various bands, I’m now a fully soloartist and I feel like it’s time to take back control of my creative direction”.
