South London based emcee Political Peak recently dropped the visual to his latest release ONE STEP, via GRM Daily

Following his spectacular return to music on Sneakbo’s ‘Brixton‘ album earlier this year for the collaboration on the aptly named ‘Peakbo’, Political Peak delivers his new single ‘One Step’.

Immediately getting into his stride with the laid back and melodic joint, ‘One Step‘ represents both a departure in sound and a return to form for the savant music maker. Taking inspiration from ‘a day in the life of’, Peak playfully warns,

“Don’t make me have to take that one step“,

as he chronicles balancing the risks & rewards of dream chasing; being ‘one step away’ from having it all.

The self-produced track marks the first release from Peak’s highly anticipated audio/visual studio and film project, ‘HERE I AM’ and cues his debut as a producer. The accompanying Mortal Kombat inspired music video directed by Jay Parpworth (Fredo, Avelino, Stonebwoy) sees Peak in full neon cinematic action mode as he’s lured into battling an unknown skilful enemy controlled by a beautiful, mysterious and dangerous, Goddess.

Having been one of the first underground UK musicians to make noise via YouTube’s shoot-n-upload generation, he also helped pioneer a new sound for the masses. The blueprint he created alongside Sneakbo took the rawness of road rap and gave it a tropical twist of Afrobeats and Bashment, coining the hefty sub-genre Afro-Bashment. Breakthrough singles for the duo were classics such as ‘Jetski Wave’, ‘Wave Like Us’ and ‘Touch Ah Button’ and led the way for the sound which has since engrained into mechanics of the UK urban scene today.

Building a dedicated fanbase across the United Kingdom via YouTube and social networks, he regularly tips one million views per release and has dropped a string of successful tracks including ‘Tear It Out’, ‘Trapped in Slavery’, ‘On A Mission’, ‘In The Whip’ and ‘Get Lean’.

Now self-releasing via his own Str88Cash imprint, Political Peak opens a new wave of magic with his latest release ‘One Step’.
