Brooklyn, New York-based R&B artist Alex Mali & Brooklyn Hip Hop artist Thutmose team up on the track FADED, taken off Alex’s forthcoming debut EP, SWEET AND SOUR

Brooklyn born R&B artist and songwriter, Alex Mali releases ‘FADED’. It features Brooklyn Hip Hop artist Thutmose and is the second single from her anticipated debut EP ‘Sweet And Sour’ out this Spring. Its already been championed by Ebro Darden and the team at Apple, premiering on Beats 1 radio.

‘FADED‘, with its bouncy 808’s provided by DJ TGUT and velvet soaked melodies, shows Alex reenacting a moment of desire, seductive embarrassment and even hesitation to drunk text her lover after a night of hanging out with the girls. Coupled with a video whose style pays homage to the legendary Spike Lee, it encapsulates you in a trippy day-dream as she glides across the party to meet Thutmose, awaiting her on the other side of the room.

Her previous releases have been supported at Apple by Ebro and Nedeska and at Spotify on playlists such as New Music Friday, Alternative R&B, Fresh Finds and more. Her first release ‘PHENOM‘, produced by Monte Booker, reached nearly one million streams on Spotify and landed on BBC1 Radio in the UK. She followed that up with “Hoity Toity” featuring Grammy Award-winning artist MeLo-X, which demonstrated her versatility and love of her Caribbean roots. The official music video premiered on the FADER landing on H&M + TopShop playlists and spun on Ebro’s Beats 1 Radio.

Her upcoming debut EP will also include the single ‘BENJAMIN‘ which premiered on Ebro and Nedeska Apple playlist and its video supported by Revolt. Her voice is phenomenal and on the EP it exceeds expectations. Alex Mali is destined to be the next big thing in the R&B female lane this year.
