London, UK based British Nigerian Afropop/Afrofusion singer, songwriter and performer Vicky Sola recently dropped the visual to her track COOKED FOOD, produced by Delirious

Excellently blending her British slant of R&B/Soul with the Afrobeats sensibilities of her Nigerian heritage, BBC 1Xtra, and Capital Xtra supported Brixton Afropop and Afrofusion singer, songwriter, and performer Vicky Sola is one to watch this year! She kick starts her 2019 with the exciting new music video for her latest single ‘Cooked Food’, premiered via Clash Magazine, and taken from her long-awaited and highly anticipated debut EP, which is set for release later this year.

Written by Vicky Sola, and produced by Delirious, who has previously worked with Tinie Tempah, Lady Leshurr, Stylo G, Mista Silva, among others, ‘Cooked Food’ is an infectious R&B/Pop slanted offering, with unmistakable Afrobeats sensibilities, which is backed by lush piano arrangements and bass heavy drums, and held together nicely by Vicky Sola’s captivating vocal and lyrical performance.

For the ‘Cooked Food’ video, Vicky Sola took things back to her hometown in Brixton, with the help of burgeoning video director Marika Godwin (Nolay, Trillary Banks, Runtown). Filmed around the vibrant Brixton market, with choreography directed by Patience J (WSTRN, Davido, Tiwa Savage, Emeli Sande), the outcome is a fierce and colorful visual offering that not only brings the record further to life but also showcases Vicky Sola’s infectious personality and performance prowess.

Speaking about how the record came about, Vicky Sola says,

“I wrote ‘Cooked Food’ when I recently took myself out on a little date, giving myself some self-love and care. As I was eating and listening to the Delirious beat, I thought of how it would feel to be loved how I love my food, and that’s literally how the song was birthed. I have so much love for my African culture, so it’s only right I added some of my favorite African foods into the lyrics, it made for a fun and quirky track”.

As for the visuals, according to the Brixton songstress,

“The ‘Cooked Food’ video represents me in many ways – high-spirited and high-energy! The aim of the video is to bring positive vibrations to everyone. When people watch this video, I just want to feed them with good vibes, and make sure they enjoy the visual journey, from dancing in the streets of Brixton to playing about in the always vibrant Brixton market, surrounded by food and recipes”.
