Atlanta, Georgia based R&B trio Blaque are back with their new album TORCH, in dedication to their fans

The R&B trio Blaque (an acronym for Believe, Life, Achieving, Quest, Unity, and Everything) comprised singers Shamari, Natina, and Brandi. Discovered by TLC’s Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes, their self-titled debut LP was released on Columbia’s Trackmasters imprint in mid-1999. ‘Blaque Out’ followed in 2002 and only in Japan, but in 2007 it was briefly made available digitally in the U.S. before being pulled from online stores, it was digitally reissued in 2011.

In 2012, member Natina Reed was killed in Lawrenceville, Georgia when she was struck by a car while crossing the street. A third and final album with Natina, ‘Torch’, was recorded, originally set to release in 2003, the album includes collaborations with Hip Hop legends Missy Elliot, Rodney ‘Dark Child’ Jerkins and includes vocals from late Blaque member, Natina Reed, who famously appeared in films like ‘Bring It On’ with Gabrielle Union and ‘Honey’ with Jessica Alba.

Current group members Shamari Fears and Brandi Williams wanted to release the album that has long been in the works, in dedication to their fans,

“The fans asked and we delivered, ‘Torch’ is our most requested fan album and we thank everyone for their continued support and patience”.
