London, UK based British Asian alternative Hip Hop Artist Hyphen recently dropped his latest track WE’RE OK

Having already received support from GRM Daily, Wordplay Magazine, BBC Asian Network, and BBC Introducing, alternative rap artist Hyphen returns with ‘We’re OK’, exposing the darker realities of life, telling stories of his journey out of depression through uplifting Hip Hop anthems.

Having been tipped as,

“The Future of British Asian Hip Hop”,

by BBC Asian Network and multiple interviews with the BBC early late show on mental health, Hyphen has used music as a form of therapy. Working in finance, Hyphen was lacking his sense of purpose. He started writing down raps and poems and his new found love of rap music helped him deal with depression and found his new direction in life.

His passion for heartfelt music and having a positive impact is made clear by the fundraising he’s been involved in. His track ‘Sounds that we Made,’ a song about stark income inequality in London, helped raise money for New Horizons a charity that works to alleviate homelessness in London. He’s also performed for Sanctus, a mental health organization, to raise awareness for depression in young men.

‘We’re OK’ is taken from Hyphen’s upcoming EP to be released later this year and will feature American singer-songwriter, Ben Zaidi.
