Founding member of the Jurassic 5, Chali 2na joins force a powerful force in UK Hip Hop, Krafty Kuts for one Massive Night this August!
Chali 2na – founding member and most familiar voice of legendary rap group Jurassic 5 and one of the best-loved emcees in Hip Hop history, is set to deliver explosive, beat-heavy rhymes and classic sing-along tunes at O2 Academy Islington. Joining him for a rare live set is Krafty Kuts, one of the key pioneers in the UK breakbeat and bass movement, and internationally renown turntablist. They’re coming together for the live debut of their highly anticipated album ‘Adventures Of A Reluctant Superhero’.
Through an illustrious 25 year-spanning career, Chali 2na has collaborated with a huge spread of top international stars including Blackalicious, Roots Manuva, Mos Def, Beenie Man, Rusko, Tippa Irie, Rizzle Kicks, K’naan, Fatlipand many more. His openness to crossing boundaries and bringing his own unique take to different genres is emblematic of his positive and easy going nature.
Krafty Kuts has been continuously immersed in beat culture since forming his own b-boy break dancing crew in the late 80’s. He has had his own record store chain, run labels, promoted critical scene events, formed his own band Wicked City and performed to crowds of 40,000 alongside the biggest names in music from the Rolling Stones to The Prodigy.
When these two forces in Hip Hop come together, expect one hell of a live show. At O2 Academy Islington, Chali 2na & Krafty Kuts will make the crowd go wild with their charisma, undeniable skill, and incredible musicality. Don’t sleep.
