Ex Foreign Beggars frontman PAV4N has unveiled his first solo single KARMA, with this brand new project he’s embracing his cultural roots and Hip Hop roots, drawing heavily from deities, mythology and Indian culture to bring something refreshingly different to the Hip Hop world

PAV4N is one of the first Indian rappers to have forged a prolific, uncompromising and worldwide career with his band Foreign Beggars. Name checked at the Grammys, playing every major festival there is and hitting the UK Top Ten charts, PAV4N has been responsible for introducing wave after wave of underground music onto the world. After the highly influential multi-genre group parted ways at the end of 2019, PAV4N has now unleashed new music and visual content through a fresh solo project which he’s announced with the first single and music video entitled ‘KARMA’.

Setting the tone, ‘KARMA’ (produced by up and coming Leicester producer 2NV), boasts PAV4N’s hard-hitting bars which are both conscious and subversive, some knocking 808s, backed by traditional Indian samples and comes equipped with a stunning music video shot in Vrindavan, Mathura and New Delhi.

India’s Gully Rap scene has exploded over the last 2 years, with some of its top acts now filling national stadiums (even one of Bollywood’s highest-grossing films of 2019 was based around the burgeoning scene). As somewhat of a pioneer and well-respected figure within the scene, this project sees PAV4N reconnect with both his cultural and Hip Hop roots, as he enters a more creatively rewarding space, culminating in a convergence of artistic vision and self-development. Billed as a living art piece, PAV4N describes it as,

“The reality of forging a unique path in music, art and the life of a perpetual foreigner”.

He will be kicking off a series of live shows this year with launch events starting in India, then hitting the UAE, UK, and USA. The unique show promises to be a feast for the ears and ears, drawing from theatre and high-end production with makeup, wardrobe, visuals and light show throughout, Live visuals come courtesy of premier motion graphics company Wolves Visuals. Flanked by drag and female dancers who seamlessly fuse dance styles – thus representing an assertive challenge to the misogyny of the rap world.

As well as the live shows PAV4N has further singles, visual content and music videos in the works for 2020, with several mainstream stars and nascent talent features and collaborations to announce.
